ICANN Email Verification — Why You Must Respond Print

  • 0

What is ICANN?

ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is the worldwide governing body that manages all domain names and TLDs. Every domain registrar, including DomainWorld, operates under ICANN's rules.

The Verification Email

After registering a domain, depending on the TLD, you may receive an email from the domain registry to verify your contact information. This is required by ICANN.

What You Must Do

  • Check your email (the address used in your DomainWorld account).
  • Look for a verification email from the domain registry.
  • Click the verification link within 14 days.

What Happens if You Don't Verify?

Your domain may be suspended. This means your website and email associated with the domain will stop working until you complete the verification. DomainWorld cannot override this — it is a worldwide rule enforced by ICANN.

If your domain gets suspended due to non-verification, simply complete the verification and the domain will be reactivated, usually within a few hours.
